Sober Second Thought

I hope Roli gets better.

Recall that scene in Men with Brooms, where the good guys burned a stone in the last end of the championship game; the crazy reptilian juggernaut told them to retake the shot because he didn't want to win by default.

Completely unrelated: I renew my abject disgust for Brind'amour. I just don't like the goon. Dirty bastard. Even if his first goal was pretty.

As I remarked to my roommate earlier tonight, they should give Brind'Amour's nose two minutes for hooking.

My sincerest condolences to you and the rest of the city of Edmonton.

Quit crying. We lost a game. Big deal.

And I'm not too worried about losing Roloson. He was cooling off already—the first two goals tonight are ones he really should have saved. I think Conklin and Markannen can do the job well enough.

Remember, in these playoffs alone, we've seen back-ups play stellar: Bryzgalov and Ward. Extend that by a month, and you can add Toskala to the list. Conklin/Markannen are sufficient. Teams win cups, not goalies.

What we do need to worry about is our sucky faceoffs (won a mere 38%), sucky powerplay (1-7), and tendency to stop skating near the end of the game (the last two goals were ultimately about our defense playing lazy).
